Date Created:
2026
Description:
The figure and name of Rām have never belonged to a single form, theology, or tradition. In the bhakti movements of North India, poets such as Kabir reworked Rām beyond the boundaries of orthodox devotion, transforming the name into a critique of ritual hierarchy, caste, and religious division. This reconfiguration of Rām opened pathways for other devotional and poetic traditions. Across these traditions, the divine name circulated less as a singular image and more as a shared vocabulary of spiritual intimacy, social critique, and ethical life. The repetition of the name became a practice through which alternative religious communities imagined belonging outside dominant structures of authority. Contains sign board, stone, wall paintings, stone gate, electrical billboard, shrine with flower, frame, light bulb, top of a stone structure, stairs at the ghāṭ, orange cloth, sculpture and stone hand, tree, flower chain/garland, post cards and flyers with images, tray with tea, green carpet, wooden encarved and wooden relief shrine, orange rope tied around a stick, red encarving, wooden ceiling with ventilator.
